Hubungan Tingkat Pengetahuan Ibu Tentang Perawatan Tali Pusat Dengan Kejadian Infeksi Tali Pusat Pada Bayi Di Wilayah Kerja Puskesmas Pringarata Tahun 2023

Abstract

One of the threats to babies is the occurrence of umbilical cord infections due to improper care of the umbilical cord and not in accordance with Standard Operational Procedures (SOP). This study aims to determine the relationship between the level of maternal knowledge about umbilical cord care and the incidence of umbilical cord infections in babies at the Pringgarata Community Health Center in 2023. This research is a correlational analytical research and the sampling technique uses simple random sampling. The sample in this study was 32 mothers who had newborn babies at the Pringgarata Community Health Center. The independent variable is the mother's level of knowledge while the dependent variable is the incidence of umbilical cord infections. The results of this research show that there were 20 respondents (62.5%) who had sufficient knowledge, while 2 respondents (6.2%) had umbilical cord infections. The results of statistical tests using Chi-Square obtained Asym Sig. 0.001< of 0.05. From the results of the Chi-square test, it can be concluded that there is a relationship between the level of maternal knowledge regarding umbilical cord care and the incidence of umbilical cord infections in babies at the Pringgarata Health Center in 2023.
