Abstract

Balanced nutrition education in elementary schools is very important to provide children with an understanding of the importance of nutritious food. Nutrition is everything, both food and drink, that enters the body and is useful for the body in achieving optimal health. The prevalence of stunting in Indonesia among children under five years old reached 27.67% in 2021, which shows that many Indonesian children do not get adequate nutritional intake. Balanced Nutrition Guidelines refer to the basic principles of balanced nutrition which include intake of energy, protein, fat, carbohydrates, vitamins, minerals and fiber in balanced amounts. The impact that occurs if you don't consume healthy and nutritious food is that you get sick easily, your body's endurance decreases, you get tired easily, it's hard to focus, you're underweight or overweight, and it hinders brain development. This activity is carried out with the aim of increasing students' knowledge and skills as well as awareness of implementing a balanced nutritional diet. The method of implementing activities is carried out by counseling using power point presentations and posters. Activity evaluation is carried out by comparing the participants' pre- and post-test results regarding the material presented. The results of the activity show that education regarding the application of a balanced nutritional diet to students at SD Negeri 1 Sibang Gede is effective in increasing students' knowledge, skills and awareness of implementing a balanced nutritional diet. It is important for educators and parents to adopt an interactive and interesting approach to nutrition education, so that children can understand and apply a balanced nutritional diet in their lives.
