Edukasi tentang Brisk Walking Exercise Pada Penderita Hipertensi di Desa Gemuruh Kecamatan Padamara

Hypertension is a condition where blood pressure exceeds the normal limit of 140/90 mmHg or
more. One non-pharmacological way to overcome hypertension is by doing brisk walking exercise. This
exercise can help lower blood pressure, reduce the risk of stroke, improve lung, and heart capacity.
Based on data from Gemuruh Village, 52 out of 110 adult and elderly citizens who participated in the
posbindu (integrated health post) experiend hypertension. Therefore, health education is highly needed
to increase public awareness and knowledge about hypertension. The PkM (Community Empowerment
Program) at Posyandu Melati in Gemuruh Village has successfully increased public knowledge about
hypertension through lecture, discussion, and demonstration methods using PowerPoint and leaflet
media. The results showed an increase in the percentage which was seen descriptively, showing a
positive indication of the effectiveness of the education provided, the category of less than 50% became
3.12%, the category of sufficient 46.88% became 50%, the category of good initially 3.12% became
46.88%.
