Nausea and vomiting (emesis gravidarum) are common complaints in the first trimester of pregnancy that affect quality of life and daily activities. Although physiological, this condition requires appropriate management. Acupressure, as a non-pharmacological intervention, offers a safe and effective alternative. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of acupressure massage in reducing nausea and vomiting in first-trimester pregnant women. This case study involved one first-trimester pregnant woman (Mrs. S) in Serangan Village, Denpasar, who experienced emesis gravidarum. The intervention, which included education and implementation of acupressure massage at the Nei Guan (P6), Zu San Li (ST36), and Gongsun (SP4) points, was conducted through a minimum of four home visits from March to April 2025. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and clinical examinations. Mrs. S successfully internalized the acupressure massage technique independently. Before the intervention, she experienced morning nausea and vomiting that interfered with her activities. After regular application of acupressure, the frequency of nausea decreased significantly, only occasionally in the morning, and vomiting no longer occurred, allowing her to resume normal activities. These results are consistent with previous studies demonstrating the effectiveness of acupressure in reducing nausea and vomiting through endorphin release and nervous system modulation. Acupressure massage at the Nei Guan (P6), Zu San Li (ST36), and Gongsun (SP4) points has been shown to be a safe, effective, and easily self-administered non-pharmacological intervention to reduce nausea and vomiting in first-trimester pregnant women, improving maternal quality of life.
